My beloved Life University's students, congratulations on your entrance to this University, and may my Lord bless all of you.
Whenever I visit Cambodia, I am indeed glad to see the day-by-day changes and developments of the country. It is remarkable that the first university has been built in Sihanoukville, a beautiful port city. Many prominent scholars are expected to come to teach here, and many of you will become future leaders.
I am especially proud to open the first 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and 1-year Post-nursing Midwifery Course in Cambodia.
This meaningful commencement is the pride of Cambodia, and of the World Christian Nursing Foundation which has been delegated by Life University to be the awarding College of Nursing and Midwifery.
The endeavor of the President, Rev. David Koo who has established this University, deserves to be honored. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my grateful thanks to the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and all the officers including the Director of the Education Department in Sihanoukville.
As you know, the world is changing rapidly. Thanks to the development of high technology, the time that enables us to share information in cyberspace has come. Furthermore, as the average life span gets longer with the development of medical science, it is increasingly desirable to have good health.
However, as the differences in the quality of life gets wider, it is true that many people are thirsty for love and concern too. And now is the time when we equip healthcare givers with both the knowledge of high technology as well as the skills to take care of our hearts. Personally, I strongly believe that Nursing Science is the very field to achieve a combination of High-Tech and High-Touch at the same time.
Through Nursing, it is also possible to make its mark in overseas expansion. Nowadays, around 20 million internationally qualified nurses are needed in USA.
So, my beloved Life University's students, Cambodia and the world are waiting for you to achieve your ambition, and realize the vision ahead of you. I do believe that if you study hard, you could be a leader in this country and play a significant role in the global stage. From the bright eyes I see before me, I am confident that you will be able to pursue your studies well.
In the Bible, there is a word of truth which says, “Faith is the being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrew 11:1).?Your beautiful dream can become true through the faith of belief. I expect your vision to be accomplished in the coming future. I will pray to God for you, and will do my best in supporting this university.
Finally, I hope Life University will grow steadily, and bless you again in the name of God.
